bought one of these a few weeks ago. I've been using some of the cheapest popcorn I could buy and so far it's popped almost 100% of the kernels. I've never used a popper that was so efficient. It starts slowly stirring the kernels as it heats up for about 4 minutes (changes the direction it stirs as well which helps with the hot oil distribution). Right around 5 minutes all the kernels pop during the next 45 seconds and then it's done. It is very fast which made it easy to switch from the microwave. Cleaning is easy - just a quick wipe with a soapy paper towel then a dry one cleans the base and a 20 second hand wash of the bowl finishes the job. Melting butter while it's popping works OK. The butter is almost all melted by the time the popcorn is done and the continuous stirring action rotates it so it spreads rather evenly. Just put on the cover over the butter smelter and turn over and it's ready to eat.
